Much has been protected, but will coalitions form to finish the job?

An Alachua County Commissioner and former executive director of Alachua Conservation Trust, Robert "Hutch" Hutchinson has for years been at the forefront of the local environmental movement.

"Alachua County has done pretty well recently, but it is a continuing struggle," he says, as exemplified by recent conflicts between Alachua County and the city of Alachua over building in sensitive sinkhole-prone areas, and the fractious debate over Plum Creek's development ambitions on the eastern side of the county.
