Chamber presents awards, hails local innovation
The Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce...presented a Chairman's Award to Plum Creek timber company for its Envision Alachua process to involve the community in planning for economic development and conservation on its 65,000 acres in the county.
"The Envision Alachua project not only identifies great possibilities to develop a community through innovation and collaboration, but to help our county attract and grow industries in the fields of technology, health care, agriculture, alternative energy and many others," outgoing Chairman Mike Gallagher said.
