Three years ago, Plum Creek said it was serious about involving the local community as the company plans the future of 60,000 acres of land it owns in Alachua County — a holding that is more than 30 times the size of the University of Florida campus and nearly three times the size of Paynes Prairie. The company launched Envision Alachua, a program that aims to engage the public in a manner that’s unprecedented both locally and in the state of Florida.
