Letter to the Editor - Superior plan
Plum Creek's Envision Alachua plan is superior to the Alachua County government's Comprehensive Plan in every way. It would improve the county's poor tax base for basic infrastructure, add students to half-empty eastside schools, and improve the spectrum of middle-class employment opportunities.
The Plum Creek land plan wouldn't add to the county infrastructure backlog, either, but more than pay for it via taxes.
